Rotor

The rotor of a wind turbine is the prime-mover of the wind turbine and consists of a number of blades with aerofoil section (normally 3) that are connected to the hub (center) of the rotor. The hub through the mechanical transmission system is connected to the Gearbox or directly to the generator. Typically in a wind turbine the rpm (rotations per minute) of the rotor is 45-60.
