Energia opens 9MW wind farm near Hollyford, Co Tipperary

At the newest wind farm near the village of Hollyford, Co Tipperary, Energy supplier Energia has begun operations supplying energy to homes and businesses across Ireland.

The €19m Hollyford wind farm has the capacity to produce 9MW of renewable electricity.

The main body of the facility’s three turbines stands 75 meters tall, while their rotor blades have a diameter of 101 meters.


The company chose the Hollyford site due to its high average wind speeds, which have been placed in ‘category one’, the highest wind-to-power ratio.
