Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems has secured an order from First Wind to supply turbines for the 148MW Oakfield project in Maine, US.

As per the order, Vestas will supply 48 V112-3.0MW turbines to the project.

Scope of the order also includes a 10-year Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service agreement for the Oakfield project.

The service option comprises the VestasOnline surveillance system that remotely controls and monitors the turbines and reduces lost production by predicting when maintenance may be required.

Vestas sales and service division in the US and Canada president Chris Brown said, "This order underlines the strong partnership between Vestas and First Wind, one of the leading wind developers in the U.S."
